GiveCamp Birmingham 2011 2.0

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists donate their time to provide solutions for non-profit organizations.

GiveCamp Birmingham, Alabama's first GiveCamp, was held in Jan 2011 and assisted 4 charities through development efforts and an additional 4 charities through social media training. Since it inception in 2007, the program as a whole  has provided benefits to over 200 charities, with a value of developer and designer time exceeding $1,000,000 in services!

Next GiveCamp Dates

GiveCamp Birmingham's second event will take place Jan 21-23, 2012.  

Right now Birmingham GiveCamp's event team is meeting to coordinate the event. Over the next couple of weeks the event team will be placing information about the event, charities, and volunteers on this site. If you are interested helping with the event, being one of the non-profits being helped, sponsoring the event, or even just learning more info please contact at info@algivecamp.org.

In addition developing application/websites for charities all weekend, GiveCampe Birmingham also will hold a special day of training for non-profits about social media on Jan19 2012. This event will take place from 9am til 5:30pm leading into the event's kick off dinner. This trainig will be focused on Social Media and how it can effect non-profits. During this event will be will have some of Birmingham's well own social media personality aviable to assist non-profits on how social media can help a non-profit. The event wil be free and open to all non-profits in the Birmingham Metro area. Registration for this event will open Jan 1, 2012.


As it stands now we are planning the event to take place in multiple venues. Over the next couple of weeks we will be releasing additional information about the venues including a sign up through eventbrite for the event.

Looking for Charities and Volunteers

Our gaol this year is to assist 12 charities. While we have already identfied 5 charities we are still accepting applications for charities to submit work proposals through our website. Please see the Charity section of this web site to submit your proposal. Deadline for proposals is Aug. 1, 2011.
